Observation, interaction, and recording are fundamental aspects of life drawing training. Just as one must learn to walk before they can run, life drawing is a necessary prerequisite to accurately depict the human form. It is imperative to understand the placement of bones and joints to draw a human figure correctly.

This workshop takes a unique approach to life drawing by allowing participants to interact with the life model's body. This provides a more thorough understanding of proportion by allowing participants to touch joints, observe skin, and closely examine the body.

Rather than focusing on perfect drawing, participants are encouraged to consider mark-making as a means of recording the information they receive from the human figure. Techniques such as line-making, poetry writing, and sketching are all valuable ways to capture this information.

The workshop aims to open the mind to new possibilities and to encourage participants

to rethink their understanding of the human body. It challenges artists to incorporate this newfound knowledge into their professional work, expanding their artistic spectrum.
